| The Corporate Workflow Engine |
The Corporate Central SaaS Portal delivers the capabilities that are required to achieve repeatable success with BPM (Business Process Management) across the enterprise. It enables the business to implement TQM (Total Quality Management) by providing a centralized corporate wide platform for automating BPM (Business Process Management), and associated application workflow.
To complete business processes accurately and efficiently, different users and groups need to be able to collaborate using one or more applications. Getting people to work on the right items, in the right order and dealing with exceptions as they arise is critical. Since business is always changing, processes need to change as well.
The design concept behind the Corporate Central SaaS Portal’s workflow engine is a ‘get this transaction done’ approach. Whether the transaction is to be completed by the Due Date or ASAP, judgment is often required to deal with exceptions. Here is how the Corporate Central SaaS Portal streamlines the business process.
When a user logs on to the Corporate Central SaaS Portal, the user’s calendar and the Tasks bar, present Tasks, Events and Appointments that originate from the different business processes and applications that drive corporate workflow. These systems use the provided API and web services to work (i.e. write and read events) with the Corporate Central SaaS Portal’s centralized events database.
To work on the task at hand, the user simply clicks the link that is attached to a task in their My Calendar view, the Task Bar or an automated email message, which launches the specific web application that handles the task at hand. Then, the portal system automatically logs the user on to the target application, and automatically positions the user at the appropriate view or record in order to complete the task or to report progress.

Competing BPM products attempt to take over business process management and dictate rigid rules for how workflow processes should be designed and executed in business applications. These products lack the broader vision of the Corporate Central SaaS Portal and do not play with external systems very well.
The Corporate Central SaaS Portal’s flexible workflow engine, the Unified Enterprise Database™ and the great user friendly interface eliminate the need for re-developing workflow components within each application.
The Corporate Central SaaS Portal serves as the central hub for the user and so it is the natural place where business process management with workflow automation will actually happen. Users are very likely to configure the Corporate Central SaaS Portal as their home page because they are able to logon once and access all corporate business applications and public web sites, access the corporate calendar and email, manage private and group events, task and appointments and participate in discussion threads – thereby launching all their activities from a single web workspace.
The Corporate Central SaaS Portal’s workflow engine provides a centralized automated workflow processing platform including email and fax based notifications with delivery status, task status, acceptance and progress handling, process escalation, due date management, repeated events and flexible exception handling.
An easy to use web services based API (Application Programming Interface) enables creating powerful workflow in applications fast.
These capabilities are well integrated with the other optional members of the Unified Enterprise Suite™: Tracker TRM, and the Enterprise User Management systems. Together these systems provide an unparalleled business process management platform.
